About
I’m Haider Kagalwala, a software engineer in Hyderabad.
Most of my work sits where application code meets the operating system: process management, pseudo-terminals, WebSocket bridges to interactive shells, and security plumbing like key rotation. I like problems that only make sense once you understand what the kernel is doing.
Away from work I read philosophy and social science, and I train. I think the combination is more useful than any one part of it, so this site holds all of it.
The best way to reach me is email: hello@haiderkagalwala.com. My code is on GitHub.

- Building
- nexec, for Linux workloads: correct decoding across buffer boundaries and clearer behaviour when output goes unread.
- Learning
- How models are served in production, from the systems side: inference internals, batching, scheduling.
- Reading
- Michael Sugrue’s lectures, starting with Faust, then Rawls and Sandel.
- Training
- Strength work on a frequency-based split, built on Taekwondo and boxing from my teens.
